Dr. Şehime G. Temel completed her medical degree at Faculty of Medicine, Bursa Uludag University, Turkey in 1990. She received her Ph.D. degree in Histology and Embryology at Health Sciences Institute, Bursa Uludag University. She worked and participated in many NIH projects as a visiting scientist at the department of Anatomy and Neuroscience, University of Kentucky, USA for 2 years. During this period her research focused on neuroendocrine mechanisms of female reproductive aging. She completed her second Bachelor degree in Business Administration at Anatolian University, Eskisehir,Turkey. She became an associate professor in 2013. During 2012-2017, she worked as a lecturer at Near East University, Faculty of Medicine for 5 years. Since then she has been working as a lecturer at Bursa Uludag University, Faculty of Medicine. She is the head of the Department of Medical Genetics at Faculty of Medicine as well as the Department of Translational Medicine at the Health Sciences Institute. She took part as a Project Coordinator and Investigator in many national and international research projects. She published many research articles at valuable peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Her research focuses mainly on the molecular mechanism of the diseases especially rare diseases and cancer, genotype-phenotype correlation of the diseases, targeted therapies, personalized, precision and predictive medicine
