Professor Dr. Eda Tahir Turanli
Eda Tahir Turanli is a Professor of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Istanbul Technical University, Turkey. Prior to that she held positions as teaching associate at Bogazici University, and as research fellow at King’s College Hospital, London and Tübitak, Kocaeli. She holds a diploma in genetics from University of Nottingham, Queen's Medical Hospital, a master degree from University of London, Imperial College of Science and Technology, St Mary's Medical School in human molecular genetics, and she received her PhD from Marmara University, Institute of Health and Science, Medical Biology and Genetics in 2000. Her main research interests are genetics and epigenetics of human disorders, focusing on autoinflammatory and neurodegenerative disorders. More recently, she became a part of National Biosimilar Drug Development project in Turkey, developing cell banks for biological drugs.
Prof. Turanli has published research papers in leading international academic journals and has given seminars at a substantial number of international conferences and institutions. She is coauthor of the books “Basic and Clinical Neuroimmunology, Part II, Multiple Sclerosis, Importance of MS biomarkers in diagnosis and prognosis”
“Biomarkers in Disease: Methods, Discoveries and Applications, Biomarkers for Multiple Sclerosis” and “Nanomedicine” in Low-dimentional and Nanostructured Materials and Devices.
